Who is responsible for your information?

The Career Couch, run by Susie Burns, is responsible for personal information collected through this website and business enquiries. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email susie@thecareercouch.co.uk.

Information you share with us

When you enquire, you may provide your name, email address, organisation and message. Please do not include sensitive information about your health or confidential information about colleagues in an initial enquiry. If we need further information to deliver a service, we will explain how it will be handled separately.

When you submit the enquiry form, your name, email address, organisation and message are sent by email to Susie through Lovable’s managed email service so she can reply. The website does not store your enquiry in a database. If automatic sending fails, the form prepares the message in your own email application instead.

Why we use your information

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, discuss relevant services and manage our correspondence. Under the UK GDPR, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, where applicable. We do not use enquiry details to subscribe you to marketing emails.

Website services and other websites

This website is hosted on Lovable. Hosting services may process technical information such as IP addresses and request details to operate and secure the website. Google Fonts supplies the fonts used on this site and may receive your IP address when your browser requests them.

Booking links take you to Google Calendar. Lovable (our website host and email delivery provider), your chosen email application and our email provider process correspondence. These services handle information under their own privacy notices. Links to our existing website are subject to that website’s privacy arrangements.

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, appropriate safeguards must be used for international transfers, such as recognised adequacy arrangements or approved contractual protections. You can contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your enquiry.

Cookies and browser storage

We have not added advertising cookies or marketing tracking to this website. Hosting or linked services may use technical storage needed to provide their services. Visiting a booking service or another linked website is subject to that service’s cookie notice.

Sharing and keeping your information

We share personal information only where needed to operate our website and correspondence, provide agreed services, obtain professional advice or meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as needed to respond, manage any resulting relationship and satisfy applicable legal requirements. The relevant period depends on the nature of the enquiry and any services agreed; you can ask us about the period that applies to your information.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restricted processing or transfer of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it. Contact Susie using the email address above. We may need to confirm your identity and will normally respond within one month.

If you are concerned about our handling of personal information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the website or our information-handling practices change. The date above identifies the latest version.
